Wash and Care instructions for compression socks

Here are some care instructions compression socks made of a microfiber material.  TierOne compression socks are made of a hybrid material fiber that provide superior comfort and compression qualities.

Please follow Care Instructions carefully.  Not following instructions can cause socks to change in how they feel when putting them on.  If material is not properly cared for sock may begin to feel less comfortable and less compressive over time.

By Hand (Preferred Method)

Here are some tips on how to hand wash microfiber compression socks:

  1. Fill a sink or basin with warm water.
  2. Pour in a small amount of mild detergent and use your hand to agitate the water, ensuring the detergent is evenly distributed.
  3. Place your compression socks into the warm water, allowing them to soak through.
  4. Using your hand, gently move your items through the water and gently massage the garments.
  5. Do not over-agitate or stretch the pieces and never wring them.
  6. Squeeze out excess water and roll the garment in a dry towel to remove as much water as possible.
  7. Hang or lay flat to dry.

 

It is important to use a mild detergent that is free of bleach and fabric softeners, as harsh detergents can destroy the thin fibers of compression socks

By Machine (Not Preferred Method)

  1. To safeguard it, flip the sock inside out before washing.
  2. As directed by the manufacturer, select a soft cycle for the washing machine, such as cold, gentle, or delicates.
  3. To clean the socks, use cold water.
  4. Use a gentle soap or detergent.
  5. Before washing, put the sock in a mesh laundry bag to protect it.
  6. Never use fabric softeners or bleach.

 

Shrinkage:

Since our products contain spandex, the socks may appear smaller after washing. However, their change in appearance should not reflect any change in their fit. To prevent shrinkage, please machine wash cold on gentle cycle and air dry/tumble low.

When to Replace Compression Socks

Even with good care, compression socks will eventually lose their elasticity and stretch out over time, usually every three to six months. However, you can extend the lifespan of your compression socks by owning multiple pairs and rotating them regularly. 

Most manufacturers typically state that their compression socks can last up to six months before the fabric begins to deteriorate. To maintain the effectiveness of your compression garments, it is advisable to replace them every three to six months, especially if you frequently wear the same few items. Here’s a simple guideline to remember: If you notice after some time, typically 3 months, that it is easier to put on your compression socks, it’s likely that they have lost their compression optimal qualities and should be replaced to help continue the health benefits you are receiving by wearing them.
